It’s that time of year when your immunity needs to be on its A-game, with a pandemic alive and well, plus all these allergens flying around (literally). I’m alternating turmeric and ginger shots every morning to boost my body’s defense.
Of course, you could look up a top-notch recipe to make these shots in your kitchen, but if you’re like me and you never have time, Buda Juice makes some ready-to-drink shots in glass bottles.
I recently did an apple cider vinegar shot challenge that was very helpful, but I dreaded drinking vinegar every morning. Shots, of anything, are typically known for their short term pain and long term benefits, but these were different. I was pleasantly surprised at how smooth these shots went down. Buda Juice mixes them with fresh squeezed orange juice so the taste is more like O.J with a zing.
Ginger and turmeric both have powerful immune system protection and anti-inflammatory effects. Inflammation is caused by environmental toxins, stress, bad diets and more. When inflammation is prolonged, the body is at risk of getting chronic illnesses like heart disease, type 2 diabetes and some types of cancer.
Turmeric stimulates the body’s antioxidant enzymes which help build defense against damaging radicles. Ginger will help in reducing redness and soreness, which can come in handy when you have a sore throat. Ginger has also shown to reduce cholesterol levels in some studies.
