This is an easy energy boosting smoothie recipe for when you’re feeling under the weather and need to get things done.
This recipe came in handy when I had to attend a beauty conference in Los Angeles last week. Even though I was down with a terrible cold, I had to keep pushing through like I was in perfect health (try applying a full face of makeup when you have a runny nose, teary eyes and congested nasals). I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.
And now to the recipe, add half a cup of water, another half cup of acai juice, 2 table spoons of squeezed lemon, 1 small apple, a handful of blueberries and two pinches of ginger powder into a blender. Before you hit the blend button, add a crushed Vitamin C tablet or sachet to the mix.
Acai, apples and blue berries are superfoods packed with antioxidants and other nutrients that will give your body the nutrients it needs to function better. Ginger gets the blood in your body flowing. Both ingredients get your energy levels up. Vitamin C will boost your immune system and help improve your overall physical performance.
You may substitute strawberries for blueberries and dark grape juice for acai.
