This is an easy energy boosting smoothie recipe for when you’re feeling under the weather and need to get things done.
This recipe came in handy when I had to attend a beauty conference in Los Angeles and I was down with a terrible cold, I had to keep pushing through like I was in perfect health (try applying a full face of makeup when you have a runny nose, teary eyes and congested nasals). I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. Now that we’re in a pandemic and a healthy immune system has become top priority, this is the perfect smoothie to help you reach your wellness goals.
And now to the recipe, add half a cup of water, another half cup of açaí (or grape) juice, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, 1 small apple, a handful of blueberries and two pinches of ginger powder into a blender. Before you hit the blend button, add a crushed Vitamin C tablet or sachet to the mix.
Acai, apples and blueberries are superfoods packed with antioxidants that protect your cells from free radical molecules that could cause diseases. Ginger is an all-round super ingredient that helps in easing multiple ailments in the body whether it’s in the digestive system or the circulatory system. Vitamin C will boost your immune system and help improve your overall physical performance.
You may substitute strawberries for blueberries and dark grape juice for acai.
