My spirits have been up all week and no, it wasn’t because of all the coffee I kept chugging down every morning. I have actually had something nice happen to me almost every day of this past week. Allow me to take you through.
Monday
A kind stranger returned my gym card which I had lost last week. That card had me so worked up cos I paid handsomely for it and I had no idea where to start looking only to find it laid pretty on door step. Texas weather is still beautiful, and even if its fall already, we can still walk around in summer clothes. The turtleneck top is from Target (Merona brand), and the skirt was purchased at Macys, a few years ago. I was initially attracted to the skirt because it looks similar to African print clothes, although the material is lighter.
Remember when I said something nice happened to me ‘almost’ everyday…yea this is the one day nothing relevant happened. Dress by Bebe. Side note/fact; have I ever mentioned my obsession for Hounds tooth print? I have everything in this print; tops, a skirt, a jacket, this dress, another dress, shoes, earrings, books, file folders, pens, pencils and even a juice cup…oh and a carpet for my future office.
Best day of the week. Sadly I can’t say, but it has a little to do with the holidays…stick around. I love these jogger denim pants, with the elastic band at the bottom. I found these at JC Penney and I wore a black sweater with them…so cozy. I spent my evening watching this new movie called “The Intern” featuring Anne Hathaway…loved it, and not just because it was about the life of a blogger (I’m lying…that’s why).
Thursday
I am now a poart of the Elle Afrique female Bloggers sisterhood!!! I am so excited about this. More to come. Tis sweater is a good example of why random shopping sprees are the best. I found it on sale at Nordstrom on one of those days when no one is in the stores. It’s actually a cashmere sweater and the color blocking is the ultimate pop to a dull fall day. I put it over a white blouse from Simply Be and leggings from Forever 21 plus peep toe sandals from Old Navy.
The prefect ending to my week. I attended an Entertainment Empowerment conference hosted by Emmy winning executive producer, Rushion McDonald, who’s worked on various projects with stars like Steve Harvey and Kevin Hart. He and Entertainment Attorney Jalene Mack organized an event where celebrity speakers gave insight on how to be successful in the business side of show business. The highlight of my day was meeting the lovely Sherrie Shepherd from ABC’s The View. She is the most lovely lady in person…she gives celebrity a good name. I will be sharing with you more about this day this coming week. Since it was a business casual dress code for the event, I opted for black treggings from Asos and a cotton/sheer blouse from Forever 21 along with Calvin Klein shoes purchased at Nordstrom.
I wish you all a lovley week ahead…love, Buba.
