Looking back on what a vibrant year 2015 has been…did I say vibrant, I meant crazy. Child, I went from 100 to zero to negatives to 70 and concluded the year a strong 80 (Praise God?). While reading some blogs last year, I came across a relationship expert who said, rather than asking the person you’re dating why they broke up with their ex, ask them what their past relationships have taught them.
So here I am, telling you what 2015 taught me….
A friend and I were recently discussing how we are yet to find a white dress we look great in. Wearing white is as challenging as wearing a dress with tiny flowers, but this swing dress I wore during the festivities, seems to do the trick….
Black is the new Black. Black is sexy, Black is classy, Black is effortless, Black don’t crack 😉.
Somewhere in the back of my grandmother’s house just outside Ibanda town, is a pathway that leads you deep into a banana plantation, with small graveyards along the way and lone cows every couple of steps.
Once I start to feel the chilly winds in Texas, all I can think of is, Thanksgiving is almost here. This year I am starting my plea earlier, to score an invitation to The Pioneer Woman’s Thanksgiving party. I’ve already sent out a tweet that is playfully but low-key seriously asking to possibly be her first “black guest” (it’s Texas y’all…a girl can assume). Fingers crossed people…fingers crossed.
Can I just say that listening to the “I’m a Barbie Girl” song at 7 years and again at 25 years are two completely different situations. At 7 all you care for is the “you can brush my hair” part. At 25 however, you hear and understand all the other lyrics and my goodness “touch me everywhere?” Barbie girl, you need to get it together. And to think they used to play this song on Cartoon Network like every hour.
Anyhoo, random conversations aside…actually, one more thing, why was the singer’s hair black…not even brown…but pitch black hair and Ken was bold with a voice that sounded like he had a criminal record…like why would they even do that. Okay here’s Style Week 5.
Ayyy it’s week 4 of the Style Week series!!!
My spirits have been up all week and no, it wasn’t because of all the coffee I kept chugging down every morning. I have actually had something nice happen to me almost every day of this past week. Allow me to take you through.
