And the style blogs are going crazy with all the flowers you should wear to a wedding this summer, but guess who refuses to be basic.
If you follow me on Snapchat (@BubaFabulous) then you already know I’ve been to one million weddings (*exaggerating) in the short amount of time I have been in Kampala.
This past weekend was my friend’s turn. I’ve known Anthea since high-school and I could not have been more thrilled to see my girl take her vows.
Selfishly though, this blog post is about my wedding look (don’t judge).
I have no idea how and when I fell in love with black but lately, I have to remind myself to buy other colors. It’s just the simplistic silhouette-esk elegance that comes with the color that keeps me going back.
What I love about black formal dresses is that they standout and yet somehow they are also forgettable. Because formal dresses are quite pricey, it’s only fair to wear them a few times and hopefully go unnoticed. Black dresses are easy to change up with accessories that offer a whole new look.
This time, I chose to wear a ball-gown silhouette and it was a hit! It’s a beautiful ball-gown by JS Boutique that I bought a while ago from Nordstrom. It has a sleek shine, is definitely comfortable and has pockets too (I loooove me some pockets).
I settled for bigger earrings as my only jewelry so that the sequin embroidery on the neckline could stand out. I finished off with a smoky glittery eye and a bold red lip.
