30 minutes to Iftar (fast-breaking meal in Ramadan), and I found myself without fresh rosemary for my ribeye. Typically, my go-to steak seasoning involves fresh garlic, black pepper, a fragrant rosemary sprig, and butter. If I’m missing one, I often abandon the entire dish. But that day, I took an alternate route, chopping the ribeye into one-inch pieces and going for a quick stir fry.
The star ingredient? Fischer & Wieser’s Soy Sriracha Glaze. Sweet, tangy, with a subtle kick—it’s tailor-made for a stir fry. With the rice simmering and my vegetables neatly chopped, everything came together in minutes. Light, fresh, and utterly delicious. It’s the kind of meal you throw together with minimal effort, perfect for cooking while chatting with a friend. Let them lend a hand with the chopping, and once it’s ready, bring the conversation to the table.
This recipe is flexible and you may swap out the ribeye for your preferred protein. Just keep an eye on the salt you add, seasoning and soy-based sauces can pack a punch.
Serves 2
Ingredients:
- 2 cups jasmine rice
- ½ cup red bell pepper, diced
- ½ cup green bell pepper, diced
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp paprika
- Salt, a dash
- ½ cup diced onions
- 1 carrot, diced
- 1-2 tsp Arrabbiata mix seasoning (chili pepper, basil, salt, sundried tomato, parsley, and garlic)
- 2-3 tbsp Soy Sriracha Glaze, to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 ½ cups fresh broccoli
Method:
- Prepare the jasmine rice according to package instructions.
- Chop the ribeye steak into bite-sized, half-inch pieces (keep the bone for flavor).
- Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
- Add the steak, a small sprinkle of salt (go easy, the glaze has salt too), carrots, and onions. Stir for about 30 seconds.
- Toss in the red and green bell peppers and stir to combine.
- Season with garlic powder, paprika, and Arrabbiata mix. Let the spices bloom for a minute or two.
- Drizzle in the Soy Sriracha Glaze, starting with a small amount. Taste and adjust as desired. Add butter and stir until everything is evenly coated.
- Pour in the beef broth, reduce the heat to medium, cover, and let it simmer for 5 minutes. Then uncover and cook down for another 2 minutes.
- Taste and adjust salt if needed.
- Turn off the heat and scatter the fresh broccoli on top. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes, allowing the residual heat to gently soften it.
- Serve alongside the fluffy jasmine rice, and enjoy.
A vibrant, satisfying meal with just the right balance of sweet, savory, and spice. Perfect for any evening craving.
