Packing for Ajijic, Mexico: Essential Items for Your Trip!

Ajijic, Mexico is a beautiful lakeside town on the north shore of Lake Chapala. It’s surrounded by mountains and is the perfect destination for a weekend getaway or a short vacation. Whether you’re planning to relax by the pool, explore the cobblestone streets, or indulge in the local cuisine, this vibrant town has something for everyone.

Now, let’s talk about packing! Here’s what I’m taking with me to make the most of my trip to Ajijic:

Footwear:

  1. Comfortable Walking Shoes: Ideal for exploring Ajijic’s charming cobblestone streets.
  2. Dressy Flats: Perfect for dinners and evening strolls.
  3. Waterproof Flats: Handy for the poolside and the lake area.

Clothing:

  1. Day and Night Outfits: Pack at least two outfits for each day since the weather can be hot, and you might want to change for the evening.
  2. Little Black Dress (ladies): A versatile piece that can be dressed up or down for any occasion.
  3. Swimsuits: Two swimsuits—one for the pool and another for activities like mud baths.
  4. Underwear and Basics: Don’t forget your essential undergarments and other basics.

Accessories:

  1. Sunglasses: Essential for protecting your eyes from the bright sun.
  2. Jewelry: Bring pieces that aren’t too valuable but can complement multiple outfits.

Beauty and Health:

  1. Makeup and Skincare: Keep your skin glowing with your favorite products.
  2. Sunscreen: Crucial for protecting your skin from the sun’s rays.
  3. Personal Care Items: Include any other toiletries and personal care items you use daily.

Practical Items:

  1. Pesos: Have local currency on hand for tips and small purchases.
  2. Reusable Water Bottle: Stay hydrated while exploring the town.
  3. Travel Guide/Map: Handy for navigating and discovering local attractions.

I’m so excited to share my Ajijic adventure with you! Make sure to watch the video on my YouTube channel for more tips and insights. Plus, I’ll be posting the full itinerary on my blog soon, so stay tuned. See you in Ajijic!
