You never know! Such a simple phrase, so much meaning. Let me tell you an interesting story. There was once a gentleman who worked for a company. On an average day, he was making the usual rounds in the showroom when a rich man walked in, interested in making a purchase. The man seemed to be confused about a decision concerning which product to pick. The gentleman, realizing this decided to offer some advice about what product he thought was best. The rich man didn’t hesitate to shun down this “thinks he knows it all” good for nothing who was interrupting him. He continued to pay attention to the manager’s opinion.
The gentleman quietly walked away, and continued about his business. A few minutes later, the rich man made a decision for which product to take, which ironically was the initial selection of the gentleman he’d chased away. Proud with his selection, he decides to purchase the product which turned out to be about his budget. The rich man decided to negotiate with the manager for a price cut. The manager was not one to authorize price cuts and said it was the duty of the company owner. The rich man claiming to know the company’s owner, requested to see him so they could discuss the discount.
The rich man entered the owner’s office and to his amazement, it happened to be the gentleman he’d chased away earlier. The nervousness the rich man felt was so over whelming he begun to sweat. The owner who could not help laughing welcomed him with open arms and offered him the discount. My father loves to tell us this story. He says that even though he had the last laugh, the experience itself taught him a very valuable lesson—not to underestimate anyone’s ability to help you. This rich man, underestimated my dad, and in a quick turn of events realized that my dad was the person he needed the most in that moment.
You Never Know! That’s my father’s Motto. One of the best values I learned from my dad is that no matter how high you go, it’s important to stay polite and grounded. It’s important to always remember where you came from, because it helps you focus on where you are going. He’s a humble man. He’s funny, He’s classy, very sarcastic, and some people take his jokes too personal. He is one of a kind, and in all that, he remains a grounded man. I am so proud to have him as my father because he motivates me. Because of him, I’m not afraid to dream big. I know that anyone can have anything they want. I never limit myself.
So today, I just want to give the biggest shout out to you Daddy! I only aspire to be as hard working, creative, successful, stylish and Anti- Aging as you are. Happy Birthday Daddy!
