He wraps his hand around her, and brings her closer to him.
She moves in with ease. She’s awake but her eyes still closed.
He can tell, he sees the comfort in her face.
He leans in a little more. Now their noses are touching.
He kisses her upper lip. Their heads are bound together,
he can feel her eyes open half way. A little shy smile breaks her face.
He sighs…as if to laugh.
Her eyes fully open now. She looks up at him, she smiles a little more
But quickly looks away and takes a quick breath in. She holds it…
….she holds it….
She continues to breathe in…slowly, not to catch his attention.
But he watches as he tries to read her mind. He knows it’s a war he will never win.
So he quickly gives up and tilts her head to face his.
She looks frightened, worried…
She is about to wake up.
She releases her breath…as slowly as she took it in.
She surrenders, she’s ready. Anything goes…dream…no dream…anything goes.
He knows not to say anything…it only confuses her more.
First he has to win her back.
She’s surprised by his kiss…the gentle pinch of his beard. The pinch turns to a tickle
She turns her head to meet his…she’s smiling.
He lets out a quiet laugh in amazement of how it works every time.
Her eyes so bright, her lips so soft, her smile so child-like
She hates that he figured it out.
She hates that she falls for it every time.
He looks into her eyes as if to wait for approval.
I love you…I love you…do you love me?…
He doesn’t wait for an answer. He knows he won’t get one. He never gets one.
…I will fight for you…because I have never loved anyon….Don’t fight for me…
She interrupts him. Her voice so quiet, so calm, so innocent and yet so powerful to him.
Don’t fight for me. She brings her hand out of the sheets in which she is wrapped.
And gently touches his neck. She moves his head closer to her.
She can see the comfort in his face. She leans in a little more…
Their lips touch…she feels him breathing. She won’t kiss him.
She wants to feel his presence. It weakens her heart and strengthens her soul.
She looks up at him, she smiles a little more.
She looks into his eyes…she holds his Gaze…She holds it…
…She holds it…
Don’t fight for me…Fight for what We Have.
