Wedding season is upon us and my my, am I seeing wrong or is everyone wearing $600 dresses? I know it can be frustrating when you want to attend a wedding, look great and not file for bankruptcy Monday morning. So, let me share a few tricks I use to work around fabulous and affordable.
Darker shades tend to come off as classy, even when the material is on the cheaper side. If you like, you can smooth out the finish with shapers like spanx. I know black may sometimes feel too played-out, so navy/deep blue could be a great alternative.
A great combo of accessories can fully elevate your minimal look. I especially love a matching set of jewelry (necklace/earrings or earrings/bracelet) it shows coordination especially when you use statement pieces. Sometimes additions like faux far scarves can add a certain je nais se quoi to an outfit you’ve worn before.
If you have a simple dress and not enough time/resources to buy jewelery, let your face be your accessory. I like to call it “wearing face.” Get a professional makeup artist to give you the face-beat of your life and let that be the first thing people notice. Play it up with a hairstyle that complements your dress and face shape and people will be too busy complementing your highlight to notice a hideous dress.
How are you guys surviving wedding season…do share….Also, look out for the other two parts of this series.
