I have this thing I do where whenever I love something, I get it in everything. Right now, I want all the camo print clothes.
There was a time when I was obsessed with houndstooth print. My bedspread, phone cover, coffee cup and alarm clock all had that odd, geo-looking black and white shape, in addition to three tops, two dresses and a skirt. I even bought the most beautiful houndstooth carpet. I hoped to save it for my first office and to this day, six years later, I’ve never opened it. I’m thinking of placing it in my bedroom. Even though now I’m not as obsessed, I still look at the print with a sense of affection.
Another print I love, although not obsessively is green camouflage. I mostly like it in clothing, particularly jackets—that’s why when I found this gem in Zara, I knew I had to have it. There’s something about throwing a camo jacket over your outfit that makes you look like the girl that’s stylish without overthinking it.
Every time I wear my other green camo jacket, I get compliments all day. I am very specific on jacket length because the fit easily makes or breaks my overall look. I either like my jacket in a crop silhouette or lengthy, past my hips and cinched in the waist. I already have a long one so this cropped version would be the perfect addition. I loved that it had a hood that’s hidden in the collar, making it stiff, adding to that “bad bitch” vibe.
My style falls more on the feminine side and when I wear badass clothes like this, I like to balance it out with some girly shoes. I went for these fluffy heels that I made myself, created a tease with a lace balconette bra worn as a crop top and styled my hair with a French-wave ponytail to complete my “hot gyal summer” look. This is the ultimate “goodbye summer, hello fall” ensemble—a jacket airy enough to wear in the heat, that can switch up into a fashionable raincoat for a surprise down pour.
