I have to admit, being out of school has made for some of the happiest days of my life—it might even explain my recent love for mixed print ensembles…I feel so present, so at peace, so ready (for I don’t even know what).
I’m not the biggest fan of matchy looks so I find so much pleasure in working with different pieces to create one coordinated look.
It starts with one item I really wanna wear. In this case, my blue skirt…which hadn’t come out to play for the longest.
Sometimes a good way to mix prints without overdoing it is by sticking to a palette. My wardrobe color palette is mostly warm, meaning I own lots of red, yellow and gold clothes. I always have a print-shirt lying around and I specifically like this one not just because I literally bought it in the Museum of American History in Washington, DC, but it also has a white base to tone things down (plus of course, the message it sends is my entire mood).
The envelope clutch was an amazing find that has one of my fav color combos…red white and navy blue. My shirt had a bit of red and so did the clutch, so I wore red shoes to tie it all together.
To put it simply, pick one or two accent items (my skirt and clutch) and make everything else to reflect lesser seen colors in the accent items.
Have an amazing week!
