I’m fresh out of an Emily In Paris Binge sesh which reminded me of Paris being the love of my life…that I’ve never met. Parisian beauty has long been praised for its minimalist yet sensual look. It’s light with bold accents like a red lip or winged liner and American favorites like bronzing and contouring are substituted with rosy blushes.
A red lip is an accessory of its own and whenever I wear it, the rest of my makeup leans towards crisp clean finishes. I’ll typically go for a winged eyeliner, mascara and hair away from my face. The lippie must be the star of the show.
Not all reds are equal, and you have to find the perfect ones that suit the undertones of your skin tone—the only way to know is to try. The Sephora Collection red in Cherry Moon, is a classic cool winter red that is worth a try if you want that crisp cherry red lip that’s an instant eye catcher. Another fav from the collection is Always Red, a warm true red that complements most skin tones.
I used the Flower Beauty Supernova Celestial skin elixir as a base for a soft glow finish. If your skin type is dry, this is perfect especially in the winter. My Mascara is also Flower Beauty’s Warrior Princess. It gives great length and volume with no flakiness.
The white gold glitter shadow on my eyes is from one of my favorite palettes by Flower Beauty, the Jungle Lights palette. This palette is truly one of a kind. The quality of the shadows is simply amazing. They are a collection of six foil-like shades that add a glittery pop to your eyes. I completed my eye look with the Smashbox Always On liner, a staple in my makeup collection.
I finally found a new foundation I like. I own a carefully curated collection of liquid foundations so I’m not easily convinced to buy new ones unless I’m very impressed. Charlotte Tilbury’s Airbrush Flawless foundation takes full coverage to a new level—three small pumps were enough to cover my face. Full coverage matte foundations can feel heavy on the face but this remains light and leaves your skin looking beautifully flawless while staying true to the matte finish. It oxidizes just a bit, so try a sample and wear it all day to find your perfect fit from their notable 44 shades.
Huda Beauty’s concealer and Easy Bake loose powder are the undefeated perfect match made in no-crease heaven that I use under my eyes and anywhere else I need to brighten on my face. I used the Cover FX Champagne pop highlighter and Flower beauty Seal the Deal setting spray to complete my subtle glowing look.
