Feelin’ Fresh

(null)Hey there, so a few weeks ago, I got caught up in a major skin catastrophe. I still can’t put my finger on what exactly happened but I suspect unwashed makeup brushes or sensitivity to make up I don’t normally use. All I know is I woke up with a major skin reaction.

Okay not major, but I take my skin very seriously and one face bump is all I can handle at any given time. Both my cheeks and forehead had a few bumps, my skin was dull, dry and unevenly toned. Not to mention the bumps felt itchy. I figured I was having sensitivity issues so I went to the skin hospital…aka Sephora.

I have been eyeing Fresh products for a while now and I could not think of a better time to try them out. When I was done asking the sales girl 10 billion questions, I took the sugar scrub home and a sample of the cleanser, moisturizer and one of the masks.

The first night and already my face felt cleaner and brighter. I decided to ditch all makeup that week until my face got back to normal. Y’all, three days in and those bumps were barely there. My skin was glowing, breathing, feeling good and everything else nice. By the end of the week, I went back and got the moisturizer only as I still had my Origins Never A Dull Moment cleanser which works just fine.

The sugar scrub is my favorite of them all. It’s a phenomenal exfoliator that doesn’t dry out your face. First I cleanse, then I apply the scrub, rub it all over my face in an upward motion for about 3 minutes then leave it on for about 20 minutes. I then wash it off with warm water and apply the moisturizer. I use it about 3 times a week.

Lots of moisturizers are filled with fake promises about long lasting moisture and this is not one of them. My face felt and looked very hydrated all day. The moisturizer isn’t oily so there’s no shine to worry about. It goes on light and you do not need to apply much. I put finger size dots on my forehead, cheeks and chin then rub it in every morning and night after cleansing my face.

Overall, I Love Fresh products. They might be pricey but they do what they promise and the major upside is that they are made with natural ingredients so you don’t have to worry about harsh chemicals. I’m not promising I am going to buy them again, only because I am a cosmetics hoarder who jumps at the new things. But if there’s no new stuff when I’m done with this, I’ll definitely stick around more especially for that scrub.

My skin is back to normal now, actually better than before, because it’s brighter, and looks evenly toned, not to mention, no crazy looking bumps in sight. Speaking of which, you know what I just got, the Boscia black cleanser…that thing is genius. Look out for that review.

Enjoy your week!

Xoxo Buba

I had the stuffed chicken taquitos and diablitos…gulf oysters on the half shell topped with shrimp enchilada. I’m still learning to love oysters and these were definitely good.

The Downtown food scene is really on the rise. @Fi The Downtown food scene is really on the rise. @FinnHallHou is definitely a vibe, with many exciting options, but perhaps the most intriguing one is @TheSmokeHTX. I’m talking, that gooood bbq on a Wednesday? …at 8pm? Unbelievable! I tried the brisket, chicken boudin, Mac and cheese, baked beans and smoked wings. Everything was incredibly delicious. You have to try. Save under DT food spots.

Check my stories/bio for $20 OFF on your 1st order Check my stories/bio for $20 OFF on your 1st order. I’ve been getting groceries at @ImperfectFoods for nearly 2 years so I’m stocked to collaborate with them and show you some of the amazing products you can purchase. Grocery stores at times have unrealistic standards when it comes to food. Little imperfections like scarring on an avocado could lead to it being wasted even when it’s perfectly fine on the inside. 35% of food in the US goes to waste and the carbon footprint of wasted food in the U.S. is greater than that of the global airline industry. Imperfect foods is fighting the food wastage problem by selling quality produce that would otherwise be thrown away. They also upcycle products like broken cashew nuts into trail mixes to create delicious snacks. They have a well curated selection of essential groceries and novel food items that are exciting to try. This is sustainability at its best. Download their app to shop!
