Hey there, so if you didn’t know, I’m in Uganda. Usually I take most of my pictures on my camera, which is where they’re currently trapped and I’m yet to find a laptop with Internet. So for now, we gotta work with what’s on my phone. So my dad, and the rest of the “Matovu” gang went to the countryside for some major family business, that I will share once my photos are freed from DSLR slavery and while we waited on more family to arrive, I convinced my sister to take a few shots of this maxi dress that people seem to love.
It’s very easy and very light to wear and even though I’m not very compatible with the color blue, this one is “to die for”. That leopard print scarf is a wardrobe favorite of mine that I guard like a lioness with her cubs. It actually has a very interesting story that I will share the next time I wear it…believe me, there will be a next time. People seriously eye that scarf so bad and I get real protective when they start to compliment it…”Awww I love that scarf”…”yea me too, I would never trade it for anything in the world”. The scarf is really light too which works perfectly as a summertime accesory (it’s always summer in Uganda). My new favorite pair of Ray Ban sunglasses perfectly hid the sun from my eyes.
Hope the new year is working out well for y’all so far. Enjoy the pictures and that breathtaking background.
Love and love…Buba.
Scarf: TJ Maxx
Sunglasses: Ray Ban
You see, normally in Houston, I’d have cereal for breakfast, a salad for lunch, and pasta or some other carb for dinner.
This is what I ate today……
Hi Fall…that’s all I could think about while wearing this. …
This, pretty much is what I looked like for most of the summer, cos all the other clothes were just not working in this Texas heat. I didn’t think much of this look at first, till I met one of my girls who thought I looked cool (Hey Allison), so I considered blogging the look. These are all basic items in your closet that you just need to put together. Yes that is a crop top…and if I raise my hands just a little you can peek at my “Mega Abs” but who cares, We’re the cool kids!!!
Happy Back to School!

Happy Saturday guys, here’s another concoction from my closet!…
Did I mention my obsession with Black and white…yes I did, so we can skip that part. If you don’t own a pair of leggings I don’t even know why you still exist. This post is an example of how you can dress them up….
It has taken me forever to post this outfit…I don’t know why…but here we are. A lot of people seemed to like this “dress”, my sisters even threatening to take it from me. We’ll lets clear a few things first, this is actually a skirt and a top…lol sorry to disappoint you.
My mum and I went shopping and being the maxi skirt addict she is, I had to keep her company as she perused through the endless isle. Now if you’ve known me for a minute you know I’m a sucker for black and white clothes…seriously I will buy it if it’s black and white. So she pulled out this skirt to take a look at it and once I saw it, I knew I wanted one. I rarely buy maxi anything but this…yess! It looked so elegant and pretty. We both ended up buying it. I teamed it with a black top so it could look like a dress. What I love the most about it is that it can look glamorous and still be super comfi…two words that rarely work together. I wore it to my classmates wedding whose photography I did (see here) and I was able to blend in well, yet still having the freedom to comfortably move around taking pictures.
For a minute there I had lost all hope in shopping at Burlington and most of those other stores that don’t offer online shopping options, typically because of all the searching and digging you have to do but this skirt has restored my faith in the store and I will be checking up on them once in a while.
Long White Maxi Skirts…I rarely give them a chance. …
